Devlog - 8/20/2021 - Graphics Overhaul Preview #3, Upcoming Features

>Hey y'all! This past year has been...well, I'm sure it doesn't need to be said. With my day job, a separate freelance project I was approached for, commission work, other personal projects, and just the general malaise of the pandemic, progress on Entangled has been slow, hence the lack of updates over the past year, but progress has been made regardless!

>So! In addition to the graphics overhaul preview, I want to list off all the changes coming in the next demo of Entangled, which will likely be the final demo until its full release!

-A working journal system, allowing the player to keep track of their objectives and the different notes found throughout the cabin. This will include a Resident Evil-style map and inventory system, allowing the player to examine different items they pick up.

-A dynamic 'chance' variable which affects certain room and item spawns, as well as how difficult it is to lose enemies during chase.

-Accessibility options! These will include options to turn off certain aspects of the game, such as gore, nudity, and the aforementioned chance variable. I'm also looking into color blindness options, but given the engine I'm not sure how difficult that will be to implement. Worst case scenario I'll need to adjust the assets directly and load different variations based on the player's options.

-And finally, a second playable story mode; Kyle's story is an expansion on the VHS tape minigame from the previous releases, fleshed out to help better set the stage for Brooke's arrival!

>I want to make something to be proud of. Something more than just a short adventure that relies on horror tropes rather than subverting and being a love letter to them. I've taken the time to actually write up design documents as opposed to just winging it like I was. I want to make something that you all can play and have fun with.

>And with that said, I'll be looking forward to the next time we meet!
