Devlog - 10/31/22 - Entangled 0.8.9 Halloween Update


>Happy Halloween, all!

>The first of the planned updates for the Entangled demo is now available, bringing with it several new maps, some updated graphics and audio, and a few bug fixes from the last one.

CHANGES and BUG FIXES:

  • Added dialogue portraits for Brooke and Joan -- looking into animating them
  • Added voice blips for Joan
  • Added movement animation for the Rot
  • Added seven new maps to bridge Brooke leaving her house with her arriving at the cabin
  • Added a proper Credits option to the main menu
  • Added a setting in the Options menu to control whether voice clips are filtered or not
  • Edited existing maps to use proper tree assets
  • Tweaked general appearance of some existing maps
  • Added a pumpkin to the front of the cabin -- truly the most important note of the update
  • Fixed map geometry in the second floor hallway; enemy should now no longer get confused
  • Fixed some text drawing issues in one of the notes
  • Replaced doors in the mansion with proper placeholders; exploration of the mansion was not intended for the demo, and the door transfer events in the previous release were left in in error
  • Fixed an error where the death screen for the Rot would play when the Wolf killed Brooke while Gore was enabled; no death screen for the Wolf currently exists

>More updates should be rolling out throughout the rest of the year, including a completely overhauled stealth and chase system designed by fellow developer RCXGaming from the RPG Maker Forums!
